Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. She is an actress or singer, as well as dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside acclaimed actors and directors for stage productions and on television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023. He will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who produced Hamilton, will direct the show. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. Her two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive was her first major role. She also appeared in the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
